Been Awhile Again

Updated daily? Who would have thought it would be three months. Let me begin. Late January and all of February were extremely busy. Anyone in this field generally expects the first two months of the year to be, well... very quiet. It was not here.

New work, existing work and the continued updating and revamping of staff has lead us to where we are right now. I refuse to boast, it is not in my nature or best interest. I will say that we have fared way better than I would have expected coming back to work just after New Years with the possibility of a long winter ahead.

While I read with great interest the talk of recession and and the ecomony being in a downward trend (or maybe spiral), it hasn't panned out here as of yet. Yes, people are struggling, no doubt of that. Maybe it is this industry, but we seem to have been able to keep it going for now without any major changes in terms of the bottom line which continues to increase.

While I do make it a point to keep closer contact with the clients that we do have and the new ones we are obtaining, I am still continuing to operate on the SOP.

The Bloodletting has Begun

So you know I'm leaving and I have transitioned to "Lame Duck VP." The heads are starting to roll. Here is what I'm seeing. I see the Night Supervisor out within the next month, maybe sooner. I see the Receptionist as being out before I leave. I see staff changes and defections and lines being drawn. I see some plans going bad. I'm in my office listening to Dave Matthews and pondering whether or not to work on limiting or mitigating and damage that is occurring here. Of course, I could also open that bottle of Jack that my co worker gave me and put my feet up on the desk and enjoy my adult beverage.

I don't think I can do that. For some strange reason, I don't want to see things here be bad for anyone, even if I gain personally from their misfortune. Weird huh? I should just open that bottle.

I just had the comment pop up on my e mail from a friend of mine in regards to my post "Tales of a Disgruntled Vice President." I went an re read my post. I have come to the realization that I must be profoundly retarded to have thought like this for the last two years and have done very little about it -- OR-- maybe I have done a lot about it and have been astoundingly quiet about it ^^ Insert Evil Laughter ^^
