Why does it seem that some people let outside influences guide all their decisions even if following this influence hustles them down the path to being unsuccessful? You have gut feelings for a reason, the vast majority of the time, that gut feeling is correct. You cant make a decison if you are unecessarily wary other peoples reaction. Make the decision. Nobody sets out to make wrong decisions, but if you do, you deal with the consequences and shall we say, rebound. I understand the delicate balance between personal and professional life, but personal stuff shouldn't screw with your day to day operations.

people are like watter:
they follow the path of least resistance, untill finaly they hit some obstruction they can not move. then the presure builds up untill finaly the watter destroys / moves/ eliminates what ever is in the way, and the water continues on it's way.
Perhaps, whomever you are refering to in the post is simply trying to go around obstructions when he/she should be knocking the shit out them.
The problem is it takes more presure for some people than it does others.
Could that be a lack of motivation, nutts, fore-sight, or fear?
I guess that depends on the observer and who ever is being observed.
Oh yeah I guess the obstruction would matter too. It is easyer to move a log than the mountain it's sitting on.
I agree with you totally, I lived it. After awhile though, the proverbial dam will break and whoever has built up all that pressure will wreak havoc upon everything.
