Aborted Rant

I was all ready- ALL READY- to blast off a huge rant about the company I leased my last car through. I got a bill for mileage and a few dents, all expected of course, after all, I had driven the miles and I had hit my car with a brick trying to kill a woodchuck for christs sake. The miles I made the car dealership that I got my new car through pay for, so essentially the cut me a check for x number of dollars, so I really only had to pay for the body work, which was reasonable. However, they charged me like $300.00 because the tires were a mismatch. I purchased new front tires in Sept. and turned the car in Nov. 2nd. So they were new. The company's rationale is that they need to be same brand and model. OK, but that is pretty shady unless I put some brand on the car that isn't even close to comparable. These were good tires, cost $125.00 each.

This morning I called them, expecting that they would tell me that they want matching tires and that is that. My counter (which was given to me by someone else) was "Then give me my "new" old tires back because I'll save them for when I need new tires for the new car." I was ready for the answer "we don't do that" which I was going to say "I'm not paying twice for tires so I'm going to come down there and get them."

NO NEED. I called and the guy says, "What happened? They wore out?" I said "yes." He said, "I'll take that charge off. Here is your new total." WTF? I know I paid my bill on time and the car was in decent shape, but this easy? I heard this company was a bunch of douchebags too! Maybe they are, but this guy wasn't. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ME M'FER!!
