My ex-wife has been hanging out with a fireman. She’s my ex wife, it really doesn’t matter. I know this guy from years ago, who he is, how he is. He’s a dick, but the way I know he is a dick is from a long time ago. The short of the story is that some 8 years ago I was out with my ex (we weren’t married then) at a bar with other people. This guy was there. He talked with her, asked her who she was there with, and then said “Oh why don’t you come home with me?” If there is one thing that burns my ass it is disrespect.
Cut to 2004- they hang out, no big deal.
Cut to last night- I bring the kids home at 7:30 like I always do. Fireboy is there. Kids go in, I return to the car to get their stuff. Bring the stuff in, put it on the table. He stands up “Hi- I’m Mike.” He holds out his hand for me to shake it. The reply from me was “Good.” Not just “Good” but a “Good” with a fuck you intonation. No handshake. Say goodbye to the ex wife and leave, laugh hysterically in the car.
This isn’t bitterness or issues regarding a failed marriage. This is an old issue of disrespect from 8 years ago. A man will forget a lot of stuff, but not disrespect. It is also not the smartest thing to do on her side, she knows that story, what did she think would happen- that I’d wish him a happy holiday?

Yes- It helps. I'm not bothered by it, except for what I said about disrespect. The kids know who their father is. If he was half the man that I am, I'd be concerned.
