Curse of Dan Dickau

I see that Lenny Wilkens quit as head coach of the Knicks. Well, good for him and good for anyone who even considers themselves a fan of the Knicks. First off, the guy is too freakin’ old to coach a basketball team with the GM watching over his shoulder all the time, he doesn’t need that bullshit, second, he hasn’t won anything in the last 6-8 years so who cares if he leaves. Last, why not make a change. The Knicks have a fundamentally flawed roster, they don’t play defense at all anymore, which to any Knick fan is more galling than losing a game 66-64, like the defensive minded Knicks used to occasionally do. Herb Williams will do an OK job, but it doesn’t matter what he does, the interim tag ushers in failure. I’m surprised that the Knicks didn’t offer the gig to Ewing since he was in town for Friday’s game. If anything, he could have taken Sweetney and taught him how to get pissed and walk around with a scowl on his face. If he failed, so what, blame it on the bad roster.

Now to add insult to injury- F’ing Dan Dickau is tearing up the league. Since I posted about Dan Dickau- the guy has lit it up. These teams- I’m telling you, I must have sold my soul for the 1994 Knicks and Rangers, because neither on has done shit since. Bad year for NY sports.

We could mix up the names and call him Nenad Dickau, but that is eerily reminiscent of the terms for a German Vasectomy.
