Once in awhile there are things that happen or things you do or people you meet that restore your faith in humanity. It can be seeing an innocent baby being carried around, having something go your way, fixing some kind of problem, getting a letter, seeing the sun rise, all of that and more.
There are times when you just think that everything is just really bad. I mean, you think that you are not very good at a damn thing, but then you see something or find something or you just have something good happen to you. What I’m trying to say, and I’m struggling with it because I can’t find the correct words right now, is that there is a lot of good out there and if you keep going you’re going to find it or it is going to find you.
I’m just as guilty as everyone else, maybe more. I should know that when the opportunity presents itself to see a sunrise, you should take the time to look at it. After it snows and all the sounds of the world are muffled, that I should take a walk. I think that may explain what I’m getting at. Each day is important and should be lived out fully. I’ve gone to sleep early just to get the day done, what a waste, I’ll never get that day back.
You can’t get those days back, but you can get the most out of all the other days. Do what you want to, but follow your conscience. If you want to donate money to a charity, donate it, if you don’t, don’t. If you don’t want to help someone broken down on the side of the road, don’t do it. But if you do want to do something like that- then do it. Don’t just skate through life trying to get by and doing the same stuff all the time, don’t fall into a routine, do what you feel like doing, but live up to your responsibilities as well. There has to be a balance between a career, a good life, and your responsibilities.
